I have done thousands of live performances and studio sessions on guitars, keys (piano, Hammond, Møog), oud, mandolin, trombone, trumpet, bass, accordion, ukulele ... What keeps me in demand? My ears are always open. I embrace and study all genres. I've played for crowds as little as your backyard BBQ to Dogwood Festival Main Stage (+100,000) and toured with professional acts.
I'm a BMI songwriter/composer, published under NESS Monster Music. My original songs have been featured on TV and radio worldwide. Recently, I won the 2017 AJMF Songwriting Commission Contest and have arranged charts for many big bands including Atlanta Brass Cats, Jagged Stones, Celebrity Allstar Band, and my own Nick & The Grooves®. I've also made everything from lead sheets to full orchestrations for thousands of international students and artists.
I love to teach and have kept a weekly schedule of 30-40 students for over 16 years. I have experience teaching all ages using a wide variety of methods, including Suzuki and ABRSM (Royal School of Music). I give workshops and clinics year-round at schools and conventions, serve on the board of Lauda Musicam, and am the executive director of Judaic Mosaic™ songwriting & recording camp.
