This is a FREE community event. Come on out, bring your instrument, and jam with your Blues family on the historic Towne Cinema stage.

Some of you may recall when I founded the first-ever Buckhead blues jam at Park Bench … meeting Wednesday nights. After a solid summer, I migrated to co-host the Dunwoody blues jam at Mudcatz with Barry Richman and co. … also a Wednesday night gathering. Something about me and Blues and Wednesdays. It feels right 🙂  Probably because the first blues jam I ever attended was on a Wednesday. It was the year 2004, the venue Darwins (formerly of Marietta, GA). John McKnight on drums. Tommy Dodd on pedal steel (the master!!!). Charlie Wooten on bass. It was insane. Each one of these gentlemen could carry an entire show alone. Together, it was simply jaw-dropping.

I have since had the great honor to perform and record with John, and share enlightening conversation with Charlie about how to be a good bandleader. I’ve been blessed with the friendship of many amazingly talented musicians, and this is one more attempt to pay it forward. So if you are a budding Blues-head, a young-and-hungry Blueser, or a veteran interested in cutting some heads and trading licks – come on down. The stage is yours.

    1. Hey Dan! Yes, we had one May 17, May 31, June 14, June 28, July 12, and the next will be July 26 coming up. Every two weeks, we be jammin! Some very exciting moments including horn players Mico and Jamie (Wasted Potential Brass Band), and bassist Joel Edwards (Barry Richman Band). Also, our house drummer seat is now occupied by the incredible Derek “Scooby” Spivey! Hope to see you again soon. ~Nick
